Visualising and Re-visualising the Highlands

This almost sums it all up for me –

Art, Maps and Books: Visualising and Re-visualising the Highlands Plenary Address: Lie of the Land Conference, University of Stirling, 26-30 July 2006. Murdo Macdonald, Professor of History of Scottish Art, University of Dundee.

downloadable at http://www.vrc.dundee.ac.uk/PDFs/WTTW%20Art%20Maps%20and%20Books.pdf

and resonates strongly to a couple of articles I’ve read recently in the John Muir Trust Journal, one by Helen McDade called Making a Stand, and more particularly one by Mike Daniels called Culture Change on deer management.

It makes it more clearer than ever to me that artists like Will McLean and art historians like Murdo Macdonald should be part of the wildland debate.
