Acanthocinus aedilis

I took this photo in Glen Affric yesterday. This longhorn type beetle is exclusive to the Highlands of Scotland – Acanthocinus aedilis also called the Timberman. They rely on mature pine forest and particularly on fallen timber that provides necessary micro habitat and fungal decay. Probably a good indicator of wild land.
